Add woodgrain

Now the fun begins. We're going to replace all of the "coloring book" colors with wood-grain images.

  1. Open both of the wood textures:
    wood1.jpg     wood2.jpg
    (you can use these, just copy to your own computer.)

  2. Using the magic wand again, select all the green trees and bushes. Save this selection using Selection/Save to Alpha Channel. Call it "trees".
       

  3. Select the "Flood Fill" tool; Fill Style "Pattern"; and then in the "Options" panel, select "wood2.jpg":

  4. Now, fill all the selected areas of your image:

  5. Repeat these steps, selecting all the remaining areas of the schoolhouse and filling with "wood1.jpg". Save this selection to an alpha channel and call it "house".
